Shields & Shenton
Husband and wife musical duo Erin Shields and David Shenton present their unique and highly entertaining show, The Great American Songbook Retold, to the stage. With over 3,500 combined performances to their credit these consummate and virtuosic performers have been delighting audiences for years with their sophisticated show featuring highly original interpretations of songs every audience knows and loves.
With groundbreaking arrangements such as Shenton’s My Funny Valentine mashed together with Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, a swinging Rainbow Connection, the glorious Shenandoah, and timeless classic hits from Great American Songbook legends Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Arlen, and many more.
The show, which features Shields as vocalist and pianist, and Shenton on piano, violin, flute, melodica, and looping machine (creating an orchestra on stage with one instrument and a looping pedal), has something for everyone. We invite you to sit back, relax and hum along to some of the greatest songs ever written, and the stories behind their existence, as we all share this warm and wonderful musical experience together.
